New Age Flag Football Opens Registration

New Age Flag Football is now accepting registrations for it's inaugural season! The NAFFL is a Coed Youth Flag Football League for players in grades Kindergarten through 8th Grade. Players of all skill sets are welcome to join the organization that is focused on developing athletic and social skills.

"I'm excited! Our staff has been working hard to bring this vision to life. We've been in the planning stages for a long time, so to actually get the kids on the field and see our hard work come to fruition is a blessing," said Owner Charles Johnson.

New Age Flag Football will open registration for its Huntersville location with plans on opening an Uptown Charlotte location soon. They look to expand across the city and eventually into South Carolina. Charles explained, "I want this to be the best youth program in the Carolinas. My goal is for us to keep growing year over year and to be able to bring together both states and allow our players the opportunity to play other teams across state lines. We want to develop basic football skills for our players whether they're playing in our league just for fun or to improve their craft."

Executive Director Ian Holmes says parents will appreciate being a part of the organization. "I've been involved in community sports for several years. Parents want a league that is organized and they take account to great communication. It is our mission to be the most organized youth program in the area. We will start practices and games on time and stay in constant communication with our parents. There is no such thing as over communicating with our families. They want to be in the know and we understand that. I think families will appreciate our hard work and most of all enjoy their time with us."

New Age Flag Football was established to focus on the growth and development of flag football as a whole in the area. "We saw a need for a program that isn't just about a bottom line. We really want the kids to have fun and learn something while they're out here on the fields. Some of my most memorable moments as a child were playing organized sports with my friends. I want our players to build friendships that last a lifetime. I want our program to provide an opportunity for a six year old to learn the game and grow their skills all the way through middle school. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child go home win or lose with a smile on their face and then return for the next season. It's a special feeling," Commissioner JJ Briceno explained.

"I've built a great team with the right mindset needed to grow the game I love and to make sure kids are able to be kids and have fun," says Charles. "Getting kids away from screens is hard now. It seems that phones, tablets, and computers have taken over our culture. New Age Flag Football gives families the opportunity to get out of the house, enjoy the outdoors, and spend time with each other."

"We're centered on our families," Ian said. "Everyone is invited. Moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandmothers, and grandfathers. This is a place where friends and families can come together and root for a child and really see them come out of their shell. You can expect music at our fields, happy coaches and staff, and the feeling of a tight-knit community."
